Canon 50D modified DSLR camera - Canon 50Da
For astrophotography, digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) camera's get more popular each day. Ease of use and not needing a computer while exposing are major advantages. Unfortunately consumer DSLR's contain an internal filter that blocks certain wavelengths of light and because of this that light cannot be registered. This manifests itself particularly in the red part of the spectrum as a result of which red nebulae hardly can be captured. By removing this filter the camera can register these wavelengths and becomes much more sensitive for red and H-alpha light. Ideal for astrofotography.
This Canon 50D has been modified professionally by replacing the internal standard filter by an ultra-violet and infra-red blocking filter. All remaining wavelengths are passed through and will recorded by the camera's CCD.
The camera is provided including all standard Canon accessories (NO lens, only camera body) and has a 1 year warantee. In short the ideal astrocamera!
